Gray Whale migration over 10,000 whales take part !
The Gray Whale makes the most spectacular and longest mass migration of any marine mammal. Tens of thousands of gray whales migrate annually along the Newport/Laguna Beach coastline during the months of January, February, March, & April. During the gray whale migration, it is not uncommon to view 5 or more gray whales a cruise making for excellent viewing opportunities. Other varieties of whales including finback whales, humpback whales, and minke whales can also be viewed along with several species of dolphin.

Just outside of Newport Bay is the beginning of one of the largest marine protected areas in southern California created to protect this rich ecosystem for future generations. The marine sanctuary covers over 15 miles stretching from Newport to Laguna Beach and provides a haven for all marine creatures including whales and dolphin. The marine reserve stretches along much of the Newport & Laguna Beach coastline and along with being a mecca for whale watching also offers some of the most beautiful coastline in Southern California.

An interactive musical where audience members all "join in," singing along to fun and festive songs as they help save the fairytale world, following the real-life adventures of Cinderella, Beauty, Alice, Little Red, Aladdin, Dorothy and a host of other beloved characters.
Commissioned to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Santa Monica Playhouse Family Theatre Musical Matinee series, All Join In is written by the award-winning team of Chris DeCarlo and Evelyn Rudie, directed by Graham Silbert, with music and lyrics by E. Rudie and Matthew Wrather, and features Tiffany Haile, Taylor Korsak, Ashley Kowalski, Graham Silbert and Mei Tam. Awesome special effects and video projections are by James Cooper, with delightful costumes by Ashley Hayes and Graham Silbert.
Birthday and Tea Parties, hosted by costumed fairy tale characters from the show, are available with every performance. Photo opps with the actors, too, and every child receives a complimentary Theatre Games Activity Booklet with fun acting games to play at a party, on a rainy day, or with family and friends.

Enchanted Fairytale interactive theatre is just the thing to give kids the chance to make new friends, improvise, make handicrafts, sing, dance, and act out a story, working with members of Actors' Repertory Theatre, Santa Monica's professional acting company, as they take the stage for 90 minutes of pure theatre fun. Hosted by the gaily costumed Enchanted Fairytale Players, these events only take place a few times a year, so make your reservations right away. Parents work as partners throughout this adorable acting adventure, taking an active role in all aspects of the program as everyone shares their personal perspectives on the day's fairytale, plays fun games that develop the imagination, and works with crafts to create props which are used in the final presentation.
